AUGUST 20, 2008 - SAN PEDRO, CA. - Rising fuel prices may be driving up the cost of everything else, but not the price of lobsters at the Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival. They are serving a pinchless lobster meal. Bargain hunting diners will find 2005 prices for the festival’s signature meal as well as the same low cost of admission. The festival’s signature meal, a 1.25 lb. whole steamed Maine lobster meal with cole slaw, roll and buttery dipping sauce will cost only $17.00 for the fourth year in a row.

"We’ve all been pinched in the pocketbook by the run up in fuel costs, and I think our guests are due for a treat, " said Jim Hall, Lobster Festival producer. "So instead of raising our prices like everyone else, we are going to hold the line and give families a chance to enjoy a bargain for a change. We are not going to raise the price of admission or the price of our lobster meal.”

"There is no better entertainment and dining bargain than the Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival," said Hall. "We deliver a dynamic family entertainment package and a delicious fresh cooked lobster meal for less than just the meal would cost in any restaurant. Our motto is "Come for the Feast, Stay for the Fun© so loosen those belts you tightened up a few months and treat yourself to a fine lobster meal."

Tons of fresh cooked Maine lobsters will be served for only $17.00 per meal (while supplies last) and also on the menu will be a 2.5 pound "2 on a plate special" for only $31.00. For the hearty eater there's also BBQ, chicken, Thai and Mexican food and desserts along with beer, wine and flavored drinks. Craft booths, games and rides, arts and crafts and other activities for kids will be available at an additional cost. Free activities include a pirate camp and a magic show.

The main stage features the best up and coming young bands of the LA music scene. Admission is $8.00 for adults, kids under 12 get in free. Discount coupons good for $2.00 off admission are widely available and even downloadable at lobsterfest.com. Conveniently located at the end of the 110 Harbor Freeway, parking and shuttle buses are free. 2008 festival hours are: 5 pm to 11 pm, Friday, September 19; 11 am to 11 pm, Saturday, September 20; 11 am to 7 pm, Sunday, September 21.
